Chapter Committees

As a volunteer organization, NEACR depends on the hard work of its directors and, more importantly, those members who wish to be active participants contributing to the success of our endeavors. Those members who are willing to join forces with current and past board members to promote the field of conflict resolution are encouraged to join one of the chapter committees (which continue their work year-round as necessary) or task forces (which are organized around a specific project and disband when it is complete). The chapter committees and task forces available for active member participation are listed below.

Program Committee

Committee Co-Chairs: Eron Hackshaw and Kylie Milbern

Webinar Subcommittee: Anita Aherne and Merriann Panarella

The program committee, comprised of board members and chapter members, plans multiple events each year which are designed to engage NEACR members in presentations and discussions relevant to the practice of dispute resolution in New England. The primary events are in October and April of each year. Every event is open to members and non-members alike, though members receive a significant reduction in cost of attendance. Most events are in the greater Boston area as it is geographically central to our multi-state region. However, in furtherance of our goal to include as many members as possible in face to face gatherings, events will be held in other states as possible. NEACR events provide a chance for practitioners to meet old and new colleagues and learn about developments in the field. Most NEACR programs are held on weekday evenings and include individual or panel presentations delivered by regional experts covering various aspects of the broad field of conflict resolution. Membership Committee

Committee Co-Chairs: Shiona Sommerville and Eileen Devries

Contributing Members: Sarah del Nido Budish and Eron Hackshaw

NEACR is committed to reflecting and promoting the diversity of conflict resolution practitioners throughout the region. Belonging to this standing committee means playing a key role in welcoming new members, encouraging practitioners to learn about the chapter and its benefits, while ensuring that all NEACR activities reflect New England's richly diverse group of conflict resolution professionals. Marketing and Outreach Committee

Committee Co-Chairs: Paul Criswell and Merriann Panarella

Contributing Members: Eron Hackshaw and Sarah del Nido Budish

With such a heavy dependence on the internet by the professional world as a whole, NEACR and its web manager strive to promote the organization and its many events through the use of its website, social media and marketing campaigns. Marketing Committee members are actively involved with keeping up with the times and even jumping ahead so as to reach all of its membership and the broader New England conflict resolution community. Conference Committee

Committee Co-Chairs: James Kerwin and Richard Barbieri

Contributing Member: Paul Criswell

Since its founding in the early 1990s, the chapter has organized a large scale regional conference that features some of the most respected speakers and presenters in the field of conflict resolution. The Regional Conference Planning Task Force was formed to coordinate the successful organization and delivery of our biennial conference. Volunteers on this task force work on assignments such as publicity, logistics and workshops. Motivated individuals with an interest in building upon the success of previous conferences should email admin@neacr.org.
