Two key parts of a mediator’s role are to help parties feel empowered to speak up and to create as level a playing field as possible for all the parties at the table during the mediation session. Easier said than done! In this workshop we’ll explore how different kinds of power imbalances show up in the mediation room, and we’ll identify and practice using strategies to bring more equity to the process. A pre-requisite of this program is basic mediation training or equivalent training/experience. Fees are $15 for active TMTC roster mediators ($10 if SJC-qualified) and $30 for other mediators.
